What you must buy: Edy's (or Dreyer's. Both make it, apparently) Slow Churned "Take the Cake" ice cream. It's one of their limited edition American Idol flavors (although it's winning their poll by a wide margin, so I hope that means it's going to stay), and it's yellow cake ice cream with blue frosting swirls and rainbow sprinkles. It sounds nasty, I know. I thought the same thing. But it tastes like frozen cake batter if GOD were making the cake. And because it's limited edition, I'm stockpiling the shit militia style so in the event of an apocalypse, I won't die of my yellow cake ice cream withdrawal.

(Yes, keristars, I know you tried it and didn't like it. Yes, you are the only one.)

That sounds like vomit. I wish I could try some for free first before buying it. I don't like vomit.

You'd think that. I thought that--I got it for my kids, and swore I wouldn't have any. I caved, and...well, while I prefer fruit in my ice cream, it DOESN'T taste like vomit. I'd eat it again, even if it weren't the only thing in my house. Then again, ice cream goes quick around this place.

I also thought that sounded good... but could not bring myself to eat "light" ice cream. So I got Dean's "cupcake" flavor, which was similar, except with chocolate frosting and chunks of yellow cake mixed in. SO GOOD.

I've had decent low-fat and "light" ice creams. Healthy Choice isn't bad and neither is Weight Watchers. The "light" doesn't scare me off as much as the mix of flavors does.

ohmy, that really does sound truly revolting.

Marn had a flavour of ice cream the other day which claimed to be cake batter flavoured and it tasted amazingly like eating a stick of butter rolled in sugar. I mean, I was impressed just how much it tasted exactly like that, and yet, I was totally not impressed. blech.

sounds like a lot of sugar...
in fact..probably too much sugar. haha

if I'm going to have ANY ice cream that's *too* sugary...it HAS to be Coldstone. Hands down. XD

I want to try Edy's double vanilla. I don't know what it is, but it has to be good.

Also: tried Cherry Garcia (I know we were talking about this). Was not impressed. Breyers has a similar flavor I think is much better.

I haven't tried it yet but I've had other cake-flavored icecreams so it sounds pretty good to me. Actually one place I tried a cake-flavored one with frosting pieces was at an icecream place in York, ME. Yum! So I guess I'll have to get some sometime.
